Day 3:

Had breakfast dim sum at the hotel next to ours and even though we ate a lot a lot a lot (as seen in the photo)… we only paid about $10-15 per person!!!!! Which was very worth it because the food was pretty good :-)

After breakfast, we headed towards Hong Kong in a cab and went to our hotel straight away!

The place I stayed in Hong Kong was Royal Plaza Hotel and honestly I was really impressed!!! Even though it's a little more pricey, but I really loved the decor + facilities!! (Especially the gym which was really really nice HAHAHA and there were personal trainers if you request also!!!!!!!)
The nearest MTR is Mongkok East located at MOKO (a shopping mall connected to the hotel) but it is not very convenient  because Mongkok East station can be compared with maybe one of the stations in the Downtown Line?? Mongkok MTR however can be reached by crossing a long foot bridge about 7 minutes away :-) And that station can go to a lot a lot of places,
towards Central (中环) and towards Tsun Wan(荃湾)! :-)

Royal Plaza Hotel (帝京酒店)
193 Prince Edward Road West, Kowloon
Phone Number: +852 2928 8822

After dropping our luggages at the hotel because check-in time was only at 3pm and it was only 1pm, we decided to head over to lunch first at our first stop!!! :-)

Our first stop for lunch was to have some famous roost goose and char siew at the one and only Yung Kee!!! Heard a lot about it while I was researching for this trip, with many giving it many thumbs up. But honestly, it was too expensive with such little portion and the food was all gobbled up within a few minutes, while leaving the wallet with a huge hole. To add on, the food was honestly just average, very very disappointing!!!! Would never go back again HAHAHA

Yung Kee Restaurant (鏞記酒家)
32-40 Wellington Street
中環威靈頓街32-40號
Nearest MTR: Central MTR Station

Directions:
1. Come out from Central Exit G
2. Walk against the traffic until you reach Queen’s Road Central
3. Cross the road and walk along the traffic until you see d’Aguilar Street
4. Turn left into d’Aguilar Street, walk straight until you see Wellington Street on the right
5. Turn right into Wellington Street and you should see Yung Kee on your right

After our (rather disappointing) lunch, we took a cab up to the Peak, we didn't take the tram because it was a 30-40 min walk from Yung Kee to the lower terminal )-: But anyways took it once in 2008, so didn't miss out so much! The Peak was, well what can I say, INCREDIBLE!!! Since we went at about 3-4pm we managed to see the beginning of sun set which was just so beautiful!!!! It was very very windy though and we were all freezing but despite all that we still manage to take a lot a lot of photos teehee :-)

^ possibly my favorite photo out of the whole trip

After such a windy + cold 15 minutes, we grabbed some famous egg tarts downstairs, 1-2 levels from the top!!! :-)

Tai Cheong Bakery (泰昌餅家)
Shop No.19, L2, The Peak Galleria

Took a mini-bus (小巴) towards Central and really enjoyed my ride because it was exactly the same as in Hong Kong dramas hehehe ^_^ was such a happy kid

dropped off at Abercrombie & Fitch (which had 4 levels??? it was humongous??? and the ang moh damn cute???) and then headed back to our hotel!!! :-) My cousin, Ray and my mother went for Sammi Cheng's concert at Hung Hom while Ian went to meet his friend for dinner so there was only my dad and I left… So we just roamed around the area and got ourselves snacks and dinner on the way :-) We walked around Fa Yuen Street, Temple Street and Ladies' Market and we just walked for like ermz maybe 3 hours??? But so glad to have spent time with my dad :-)

some curry fish balls from the streets!!!!!!!! always wanted to taste it because all my favorite HK actors are always eating it in dramas HAHAHA

Saw small groups of protests going on along Sai Yeong Choi street!!!!!!! There were SO many video cameras and policemen crowding around in case anything happened!!!!!

Dad and I then had dinner at 海皇粥店 at the Yau Ma Tei branch and we ordered the set meal which consisted of a drink, a basket of dough fritters, a huge bowl of porridge and chee cheong fun and it was only 52 HKD (about $8-9 SGD)!!!!! Ridiculously cheap and the food was good too :-)

Hai Wang Porridge (海皇粥店)

彌敦道497A號地下

Headed over to the talked about Australia Dairy Company for breakfast early the next morning and
even though we reached there at about 10am, there was already a long queue outside the cafe!!!
Thankfully we didn't have to wait for a very long time and we were being seated within 20 minutes :-)

Managed to try their breakfast set (Macaroni Soup, Toast with either scrambled eggs/ sunny-side up and Iced Yuan Yang!!!) Shared it with Ruby Jie and I have to say it was such a fulfilling breakfast!!! The toast with scrambled eggs were just AMAZING and I would definitely definitely go back there (I'm actually craving for it so badly as I'm writing this )-: ) SO GOOD. If you ever visit Hong Kong, this is definitely a breakfast place you CANNOT miss.
Also I notice that a lot of Hong Kongese have their meals alone!!!! Like there were a lot of one-seaters in a lot of the cafes/restaurants we went to!!

Australia Dairy Company (澳洲牛奶公司)
47 Parkes St
7:30 - 23:00
Nearest MTR: Jordan

Directions:
1. Exit C2
2. Walk towards Parkes Street and you will probably spot the huge sign :-)

Took the MTR after breakfast to Wan Chai and followed the sign boards to Hong Kong Convention Center and Bauhinia Square :-)

The view there was amazing + the sun was to our favor so YAY hehe

Took the ferry towards Tsim Tsa Tsui, which was where Avenue of Stars (星光大道) was located!!!!
Lucky for us, a Mobile Softee truck was just parked outside the ferry pier so we managed to have some ice cream on a hot (but windy) day yum yum

Walked to the MTR station and headed for Causeway Bay to visit Times Square!!!!
But sadly cause we walked ALOT before that, everybody was too tired to shop so we didn't and headed for lunch nearby instead )-:

Chee Kee Wanton Noodles (池記雲吞面)
铜锣湾波斯富街84号底商
11:00 - 23:30

The wanton noodles obviously NOT impressive considering we queued for quite a bit

Took the tram towards Happy Valley Terminus for 2.30 HKD for fun HAHAHA such an interesting ride I got to say :-)

took the tram back to Causeway Bay cause there was nothing over there at Happy Valley HAHAHAH and we stopped at some random shop because there were a few old women who had their stalls set up and you could practice 打小人, which is like villain beating (???) where you could curse your enemies using 'magic'.
Well, I personally believe it doesn't really bring any physical harm??? But like, I guess it's sort of a psychological comfort, if that makes sense?

Took the MTR to Wong Tai Sin to visit the Wong Tai Sin temple to pray for a bit, for the upcoming years, for good health and prosperity :-)

Took the MTR (AGAIN) towards Yau Ma Tei for Four Seasons clay pot rice at Temple Street :-)
Ordered the Salty Fish with Sliced Pork for myself and it was rather good HEHE had seafood soup and  some vegetables as well!!!!! (the seafood soup was mainly crabmeat and vegetables so really it wasn't worth it…) We went to this place at about 4.30pm and there were already people having their dinner!!
My advice is to have dinner earlier because it gets SUPER crowded around dinner time!!!

Four Seasons Claypot Rice (四季煲仔飯)

^ our hotel room!!!! HAHAHA my brother

Day 3:

Woke up early next morning to have Tim Ho Wan for breakfast YAY :-) There are a lot of outlets all around Hong Kong but we went to the one at Sham Shui Po, with one Michelin Star :-) I think it was one of the first few to open!!!! And the place was rather small!!!!!
Had some siew mai, charsiew buns (sorry didn't really take any pictures because busy eating HAHAHA) oops sorry hehe it wasn't very pricey though, so recommendable!!!

Tim Ho Wan (添好運點心專門店)
深水埗福榮街9-11號地下
 9-11 Fuk Wing Street
 8:00am – 9:30pm
Nearest MTR: Sham Shui Po

Sorry cannot really give directions because we relied on the GPS because I couldn't really find websites that gave accurate directions!!! )-: But take Exit B2 :-)

Nomz after a small dim sum meal, we headed to try a recommended porridge by our cousins and aunties!!!! Which was near our hotel so it was very convenient as well since it was our last day also )-:
Their porridge was indeed good!!!!! More on the water-y side but the workers were very humble and welcomed photos (unlike some of the cafes that we went to where the owners were very cocky)

Mui Kee Porridge (妹記生滾粥品)
中國香港花園街市政大廈4樓熟食中心11-12舖
Located at Fa Yuen Cooked Centre (kind of like a hawker center and it's on level 4 :-))
Nearest MTR: Mongkok

^ the wet market in Hong Kong!!!

HAHAHA went to eat AGAIN cause wanted to have some pineapple buns (菠蘿包) so we headed to the cafe with the 'best' ones (which was a 3 minute walk from Mui Kee!!!!!) and the lady boss was so cocky HAHAHA ordered pineapple bun, egg tart and iced yuan yang!!!!! I felt that they were all average actually, not the best for sure.

Kam Wah Cafe (金華冰廳)
G/F, 47 Bute Street
6:30am – 12 midnight
Closest MTR: Mongkok

Directions:
1. Come out from Mongkok Station Exit B3
2. You will see an escalator leading up to a bridge. Go up the escalator.
3. As shown on my map, you are walking along Mong Kok Road, on a pedestrian bridge above Mong Kok Road.
4. Turn to the left and goes down that escalator to reach ground floor.
5. Walk straight until you come to a T junction.
6. Kam Wah Cafe is on your left.

Brother wanted some fried meat balls so I guess we went to eat again… I mean last day in HK anyways HAHAHA we went to some stall by the corner where SO MANY HK stars visited before!!! It was very good though :-) Had some spicy meat balls and fried ones!

Headed to airport after that and had some starbucks on the way (skinny caramel macchiato) :-)

Cathay serves super decent food on the plane omggggg :-)

Hong Kong in general was more well-liked than Shenzhen mainly because of the people, the culture, and the fact that Hong Kong doesn't block all my social media LOL HAHA but no seriously, I truly loved Hong Kong!!!!!!! Had a much better impression this time round than in 2008 because I was just too young.

Besides, I planned the trip and itinerary this time round so I felt more well-informed :-) Thankfully there was no language barrier because most of my family members could speak Cantonese (I can understand praise the lord thank you HK dramas you have taught me well!!!!!!!)
but yes, more determined to learn Cantonese now and not rely too much on english subtitles yay :-) 2015 resolution indeed. Also... I LOVE THE FOOD in HK i'm gonna grow so fat eating everyday if I lived there oh lord HAHAHA

Need to learn to control my ill temper, Clare Peh. Note to self. Hmm, what else. Need to learn to be more tolerant as well and not be too ignorant and only believe that I am the right one. Not to mention my rudeness. Sigh, so much to change but baby steps, I guess :-) At least the effort's there???

Can't wait to visit HK again :-)

**most of the information directions is credited to https://chinchaijiak.wordpress.com :-)
+ it was very easy for us because my dad could speak fluent Cantonese (my mother and Ray could speak some too) so it was quite easy for us to find our way!!! But I guess you can use GPS too because that was what we did too :-)
